The Tile Lab is a true reflection of who Jason is. After working in the tiling trade since 1989, initially with his father who’s tiling career started in 1955. Jason has continued to develop his knowledge and expertise to create his continuing vision to spread the appreciation and understanding that there is so much more to tiles. Likes: Golf, trying to keep fit, chocolate and whiskey! Dislikes: Litter and bad manners.

With over 10 years of experience in a supporting role within the tiling trade, Fran has developed a keen eye for trends and styles. She also places a lot of importance on practicability, viability, and feasibility. For Fran, it has to look good as well as work well within its environment. Likes: Running, Films, and Cherry Lips!! Dislikes: Lateness.
Our Heritage

In 1955 Charles Franklin Jones (Aka Charlie Tile) was 15 years old. For Charlie, this meant one thing.....it was time to start working! His brother Ken was a tiler and worked for Fullers Paving & Tiling, so he 'put in a good word' enabling Charlie to start a 4-year apprenticeship. During those 'Fullers' years, Charlie worked on some iconic industrial buildings such as Cadbury's in Moreton and Schweppes in Aintree. Mr Fuller eventually went to live in Australia, so Charlie, then 19, teamed up with Jimmy' The Brod' Brodnick, an ex Fuller tiler himself with 20 years experience at that point. Together they formed Merseyside Tilers working on schools, multi-storey flats, pools, houses and Doctors surgeries (see picture!!) The partnership flourished but eventually went their separate ways when Charlie became ill and was unable to work for a year!
In 1964, Charlie had recovered sufficiently to work for R.A. Davidson, all the time perfecting his craft. His most notable work here was on the multi-storey Seven Sisters in Rochdale. In 1965 Charlie went to work for Wimpey Homes and was employed by them until he was made redundant 22 years later. It was then he decided to branch out for himself again, which heralded the C.F.Jones & Sons era. During this time, Charlie did a lot of work for Wimpey Homes and Anwyl Homes, occasionally stamping his expertise on ventures such as large warehouse conversions in Manchester. In 1989, Charlie was joined by two of his sons, Gareth and Jason. Charlie retired in 2005, but C.F.Jones & Sons remains, left in Jason and his brother Gareth's capable hands. The team continues the ethos and pedigree that the company has always been associated with. The accumulation of experience over time has been the perfect foundation for the creation of The Tile Lab.
